Custom furniture and fixtures for a newly renovated Burnaby apartment—oak, steel, and precision.
The Challenge
A recently renovated apartment needed custom furniture that matched the space's modern aesthetic while providing functional workspace and entertaining areas. Standard off-the-shelf solutions wouldn't fit the specific dimensions or design language.
The Approach
Designed, fabricated, and installed a series of custom pieces:
- A 12-foot solid oak bar top with custom powder-coated steel brackets
- Matching oak floating shelves with concealed mounting
- A custom oak desk with integrated cable management and matching wall-mounted shelves
All metalwork was powder-coated to match the apartment's hardware finishes. The oak was sourced locally and finished to complement existing woodwork.
Outcome
Each piece fits the space exactly—no compromises on dimensions or design. The bar top has become the centerpiece for entertaining, and the desk provides a dedicated workspace that disappears into the room's aesthetic when not in use.
